| Dear Conservative Delegates, It has been my honour and pleasure to serve as one of your Ontario National Councillors for the past three years. During a term that included two election cycles, a new government, many meetings, conference calls, and other events, I have especially enjoyed my chance to visit all parts of our great province and almost every riding, meeting so many of you and seeing you hard at work in bringing this party forward. Since the convention in Montreal in 2005, much has been accomplished electorally: we’ve over doubled our seats in Ontario (from 24 to 51), and Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s government has helped put Canada on the right track. As a party, one of our primary tasks is to keep the grassroots energized and not fall into the trap of previous provincial and federal “small-c” conservative governments. We must not allow ourselves to forget our conservative roots. It is possible to be Canada’s governing party and be faithful to our traditions, but it’s going to take a lot of vigilance and work on the part of each one of us. For more details on the work we will undertake at the Convention: CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS Proposed Amendments to CPC Constitution (to be debated at Convention
and to be decided by delegates in plenary session): Proposed Amendments to CPC Constitution (to be decided by delegates
by means of “handout” paper ballot): Proposed policy resolutions were e-mailed to delegates on November 6. If you did not receive them, please contact the party at: (613) 755-2000 or Toll-Free at 1-866-808-8407 Looking forward to carrying out some of that work, along with you, in Winnipeg, I remain, Yours truly, Kara |
